Job summary

Joyson Safety Systems is seeking an engineer to lead steering wheel product development, focusing on cost, quality, and timing targets. You will guide CAD modeling, define drawings, maintain BOMs, and apply DFMEA/DRBFM principles to prevent failures.

The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and experience in automotive product development, with collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related major.
• 6+ years of experience in application engineering or automotive industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical parts and electrical interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Define the product shape and structure for an assigned CAD designer to model.
• Define the product drawings for an assigned CAD designer to model.
• Create and maintain bill of material for the product.
• Perform root cause analysis on samples from validation testing.
• Develop and manage VA/VE savings ideas.
• Submit and manage bill of material and technical definitions for RFQs.
• Prepare and present Design Review gates.
