Job summary

Clark Pacific in West Sacramento, CA is seeking a motivated Product Engineer to advance structural engineering in precast building systems. The role offers hands-on experience, collaboration with senior engineers, and opportunities to impact project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, including statics, stress and strain analysis, and mechanics of materials.
• Familiarity with building codes and design standards (CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural plans, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural engineering calculations, designs, and supporting details for building systems.
• Review drawings to ensure consistency with calculations and design requirements.
• Perform preliminary structural and sales engineering evaluations.
• Review contract drawings for consistency with precast construction drawings and load paths.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop cost-effective, constructible designs.
• Develop engineering tools, including span tables and Excel-based calculators.
• Support manufacturing with calculations for fabrication modifications.
• Assist with evaluating structural solutions for field conditions and repairs.
• Visit manufacturing facilities and construction sites to observe fabrication and installation.
• Work with Quality Control, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Field Erection teams on technical challenges.
• Research building codes, engineering standards, and emerging construction methods.
• Support structural testing procedures, data collection, and reporting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in Clark Pacific's building systems.
