Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer in Alliance, OH to lead the technical development, optimization, and lifecycle management of metal products and processing solutions. You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure customer requirements and profitability.

The role emphasizes design, process improvement, and cross-functional teamwork to deliver high-quality copper-based products with industry standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, metallurgical, materials science, or related field.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in metals manufacturing.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and customer-facing technical activities.
• Proven success leading product development and process improvement projects.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy and metal forming, machining, extrusion, casting.
• Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100 quality systems.
• Experience in metals service centers, mills, foundries, or extrusion plants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new products and value-added processing solutions.
• Evaluate customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to develop cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
• Provide technical expertise regarding material properties, metallurgy, product applications, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Develop engineering standards, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Support product launches and qualification activities.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and establish key process metrics.
• Serve as the technical liaison between customers, sales, and operations.
• Assist with customer visits, technical presentations, and product evaluations.
• Investigate customer complaints and lead root cause analysis.
