Job summary

Crane Company is offering a Product Engineer Intern role focused on innovation, development, and lifecycle management of fluoropolymer lined fluid handling components. You will lead design efforts from ideation through launch, while sustaining existing designs and driving value improvements.

Responsibilities include CAD work, prototyping, testing, and cross-functional project leadership. Collaboration with customers and suppliers is expected, with emphasis on DFMEA, PFMEA and ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Engineering or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Product design and development expertise.
• Project management capabilities.
• Team player with initiative and decision making ability.
• Manufacturing process development background.

Responsibilities

• Product and process development for fluoropolymer lined components.
• Hands-on CAD, prototyping, testing and optimization.
• Act as technical lead on NPD projects in cross-functional teams.
• Understand industry and customer specifications and apply them to development.
• Interface with customers and suppliers to identify needs and opportunities.
• Interface with vendors to specify optimized materials for new and existing products.
• Develop innovative solutions with EF/IE, DFMEA, PFMEA and ISO 9001 in mind.
• Ensure adherence to NPD process, engineering change control and relevant standards.
