Job summary

Direct Supply seeks a Product Engineer Intern to support new product development and launches across a growing portfolio of healthcare products. You’ll gain hands-on engineering experience researching products, supporting testing, and contributing to cross-functional development while building skills in Quality Management and patent research.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a technical degree program in Engineering, Quality, Sciences, Technology, or a related field.
• 3 or more semesters remaining before graduation.
• Strong attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on work 10–20% of the time.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new software, technologies, and engineering tools.
• Ability to work 20–25 hours per week during the school year and ~40 hours in summer.

Responsibilities

• Research products, components, and technologies to develop specs for new product introductions.
• Contribute to development projects led by senior engineers from concept through launch.
• Support cross-functional teams in identifying high‑value opportunities for new products.
• Review business plans and recommend technologies to meet product goals.
• Apply AI tools to R&D activities to improve insights and efficiency.
• Develop product tests and establish standards for evaluating performance.
• Create sketches, drawings, and diagrams to support prototypes and concepts.
