Job summary

Molex seeks a Design Engineer II to apply fundamental engineering principles, owning product designs with guidance from senior team members. You will use CAD, GD&T, and analytical methods to ensure performance and manufacturability.

You will collaborate across functions, document scopes, generate test plans (DVP&R), conduct DFMEA/FEA, and lead issue resolution with structured problem solving, traveling up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in product design.
• Experience creating DFMEA and using FEA / tolerance stacks / analytical studies.
• Experience developing validation plans and analyzing test results.
• Experience with structured problem solving to determine root cause.

Responsibilities

• Assist in documenting project scope, requirements, feasibility, and work plans under senior guidance.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management to analyze customer needs.
• Support concept development to ensure manufacturable, cost-effective designs.
• Conduct DFMEA, FEA, tolerance analysis and other analytical studies with oversight.
• Create and maintain product models/drawings using GD&T with proper datum and tolerancing.
• Prepare and manage engineering change processes per company policies.
• Develop test plans (DVP&R) and analyze results; perform DOE and statistical tests.
• Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone with senior guidance.
• Travel approximately 10% of the time
