Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Product Engineer in Raleigh, NC to provide technical expertise in design, development and manufacturing of connector products. You will collaborate across engineering, sales and operations to deliver complex projects and support product launches.

Qualifications

• BS/MS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Materials Science degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with solid modeling tools (Pro/E), FEA tools a plus.
• Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical people.
• Ability to work in dynamic team environment.
• Desire to create and design new products and processes.
• Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplastics would be a plus.
• Basic understanding of electrical connectors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain product quality and reliability to ensure mechanical integrity and perform failure analysis on defects from customer applications.
• Integrate new technologies and cost initiatives into product designs and new releases.
• Manage product documentation and specifications at component and process levels.
• Serve as the customer focal point for technical product information and guidance.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing on prototypes through pilot production.
• Support NPI to volume manufacturing transitions in low-cost regions.
• Assist drafters and engineers to perform their duties effectively.
• Support mechanical tolerance analysis, FEA, and material evaluation activities.
