Job summary

Munters Corporation (MUS) is looking for a Product Engineer/Designer to design and develop HVAC components using SolidWorks. You will collaborate with manufacturing teams and lead quality enhancement projects to ensure product performance.

Job description

Compensation Range: $65,000

Job Summary

The Product Engineer/Designer will design and develop HVAC components and assemblies, primarily using SolidWorks software, and support manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Use SolidWorks to create 3‑D models, detail sheet‑metal parts, and assemblies.
  • Generate bills of materials for additional parts required by assemblies.
  • Produce assembly documentation, including instructions and jig/fixture specifications.
  • Support manufacturing personnel in resolving design and assembly issues.
  • Apply proper design principles for dampers, louvers, fans, coils, heaters, and other components.
  • Participate in continuous product improvement activities.
  • Perform special projects, assignments, and other duties as needed.
  • Conduct SolidWorks‑based stress simulations.
  • Collaborate with the Service team to understand and mitigate field events.
  • Lead engineering‑based quality enhancement projects.
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of three‑dimensional modeling techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of sheet‑metal fabrication and assembly.
  • General knowledge of mechanical/HVAC principles.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • High mechanical and problem‑solving aptitude.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow‑through skills.
  • Ability to visualize equipment based on basic information for first‑time builds.
  • Minimum associate degree in BSME/BSMET; MS preferred.
  • 3–5 years' experience in engineered design with SolidWorks.
  • Strong communication with site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, Technical Support.
  • Understanding of statistics; Minitab experience a bonus.
  • Knowledge of 6S, RCA, 8D is a bonus.
  • Travel up to 10%.
