Job summary

Trane Italia is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design equipment and systems for commercial HVAC products. You will collaborate with engineering teams, develop concepts for new and improved offerings, and solve complex technical problems to deliver sustainable, market-ready solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience contributing to product design, validation testing, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with PLM software (Teamcenter) preferred.

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer will design equipment and systems supporting the organization's goals. Collaborate with engineering teams, develop concepts for new and improved commercial HVAC products, and solve complex technical problems to produce sustainable new products.

Responsibilities

• Meet the needs of internal and external customers by documenting, understanding, and prioritizing requirements.
• Apply technical expertise to solve design problems or assess product suitability for various applications.
• Participate on project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including 3D models (Autodesk Inventor), bills of materials, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct design FMEAs and develop risk mitigation plans.
• Domestic and international travel may be required; estimated travel is 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BA/BS).
• 2+ years experience contributing to technical aspects of product design projects, validation testing, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to deliver technical designs to meet project and product requirements.
• Prior experience using PLM software (e.g., Teamcenter) is desired.

Compensation

Annual base salary range: $84,740.00 - $118,860.00. Compensation Type: Salary. Incentive Eligible: No. Sales Commission Eligible: No.
