Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. in Salina, KS is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to join the CE Attachments product development team. This on-site role focuses on designing skid-steer and excavator attachments from concept through production in Salina, KS.

The candidate will manage design projects, prototype, test, validate, and ensure manufacturability while collaborating with manufacturing to ensure quality and performance. Occasional out-of-state travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on design engineering experience, preferably in construction or agricultural equipment.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability.
• Proficient in CAD (Creo, CATIA) and PLM tools (Windchill); experience with FEA software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design new skid-steer and excavator attachments from concept through production.
• Manage design projects: concept, prototyping, testing, validation, manufacturability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing for fabrication, welding, assembly, and performance.
• Present design concepts and opportunities to management.
• Use analysis software and field data to optimize designs; create drawings and BOMs.
• Identify improvements to production methods and equipment; ensure safety regulations.
