Job Summary
We are seeking a Product Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Union City, CA. This role is ideal for an early-career engineering professional with 1 to 2 years of manufacturing, production engineering, or product support experience who enjoys improving processes, supporting production teams, and working hands-on with hardware, systems, documentation, and test environments.
The Product Engineer will support Pilot and Mass Production activities by developing SOPs, work instructions, QC checklists, production test support tools, and documentation for new and existing product configurations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Engineering teams in a collaborative production environment with supportive leadership, strong teamwork, and opportunities to build technical and manufacturing expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update SOPs, work instructions, production documentation, and QC checklists for Pilot and Mass Production activities.
- Analyze production test logs, test results, procedures, and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve quality, yield, efficiency, cost, and productivity.
- Support engineering changes, including ECNs and ECOs, by coordinating documentation, training, production readiness, and implementation on the manufacturing floor.
- Build, modify, and maintain test automation tools, scripts, fixtures, and related resources to support production testing and troubleshooting.
- Support development of Proof of Concept products, customer-specific configurations, and new product builds while validating manufacturability, test coverage, and production readiness.
- Train production teams and cross-functional partners on new processes, SOPs, tools, engineering changes, and lessons learned from POC and production activities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $36 to $43 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Develop and maintain production SOPs, work instructions, QC checklists, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support engineering changes, production readiness, Pilot builds, Mass Production execution, and floor implementation.
- Analyze production tests, troubleshoot issues, and improve manufacturing quality, yield, and efficiency.
- Build and support test automation tools, scripts, fixtures, and POC product configurations.
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a Production Engineer, Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or related manufacturing engineering role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronic, or Computing Engineering.
- Knowledge of computer hardware specifications, system-level components, production methods, manufacturing processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Required knowledge of Linux-based platforms and working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Ability to support production test troubleshooting related to hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Strong documentation skills with excellent attention to detail in testing, process execution, and procedure development.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, follow established guidelines, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Engineering teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of MES systems.
- Experience with repair processes and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with test automation, scripting, and production testing.
- Experience supporting POC builds, new product configurations, customer-specific requirements, or production readiness activities.
