Job description

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (in-office 5 days a week)

Type: Full-time, permanent

Package: Up to $300,000 + significant founding-level equity

Most companies talk about AI. My client builds the tools that help large companies get it working reliably in production. This is one of the hardest problems in tech right now, and they're already solving it for enterprise customers who pay.

They're venture-backed, growing fast and still small, so you'd get in early. You'd be one of the first product engineers, with the scope of a senior leader and the equity of an early hire. Few roles offer that mix of momentum and ownership at this stage.

What you'll be doing
  • Owning the core product. You'll lead development of the main web application from frontend to backend.
  • Building the engine underneath. You'll design the APIs and services the whole platform runs on.
  • Working directly with customers. You'll get on calls with technical teams at large companies, learn how they work and turn that into product.
  • Making complexity feel simple. You'll take rich, complicated data and turn it into clear interfaces and visualisations people want to use.
  • Shipping end to end. You'll take features from a rough idea to production, then keep improving them based on real usage.
  • Setting the standard. You'll help shape the architecture, engineering practices and culture as the team grows.
Who will thrive here
  • A strong full-stack engineer who's comfortable across modern TypeScript/Python frameworks and backend services
  • Someone who has built data-heavy applications and cares how they look and feel
  • A builder with a record of shipping things users love, not just things that work
  • An engineer with real product instincts who's comfortable making calls without waiting for permission
  • A clear communicator who enjoys being close to customers
  • Experience with AI/ML products, data platforms or developer tools
  • A background in analytics, dashboards or data visualisation
  • Time at an early-stage startup and comfort with ambiguity
  • Hands-on work with large language models
What's in it for you
  • Real ownership. Large parts of the product will be yours.
  • Founding-level equity. You'd join early enough for it to make a real difference.
  • A seat at the table. You'll work directly with the founders and influence product, technical and hiring decisions.
  • A fast learning curve. You'll be working at the cutting edge of applied AI alongside a sharp, technical team.
  • Career trajectory. There's a clear path to technical leadership as the company scales.
