Job summary

Trust in SODA, a well-funded AI startup, is seeking a product engineer who will own end-to-end problems from initial customer conversations to shipped software. You’ll join a small engineering team and work directly with experienced technical leadership in New York or San Francisco, on-site five days a week.

You’ll translate user problems into practical product solutions and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, Node.js and Python. Startup experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience shipping user-facing software.
• Ability to own problems from discovery to shipping.
• Startup/open-source side project experience is a plus.

I’m working with a well‑funded, early-stage AI company building software for complex operational environments.

You’ll join a small engineering team, learn from experienced technical leaders and take real ownership from day one.

There’s no traditional product management layer. You’ll work directly with users, decide what needs building and turn those problems into shipped software.

What you’ll work on:

• Own problems from first customer conversation through to shipped software
• Build full-stack product features used by real customers
• Translate ambiguous user problems into practical product solutions
• Make technical trade-offs and take ownership of how solutions are built
• Help shape product direction through customer insight and engineering judgement

Tech:

TypeScript, React, Node.js and Python.

You’ll need:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Experience building and shipping software that people actually use
• Product instinct and curiosity about users
• Evidence you’ve taken ownership beyond a narrowly defined task

Experience in startups, open-source, hackathons or substantial side projects is a plus.
