Job summary

Demco, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Product Engineer to drive the next generation of learning-environment products, taking concepts from ideation to production in a hands-on, collaborative role that blends design and manufacturing.

In our NPD-driven environment you will lead engineering work, translate concepts into SolidWorks designs, coordinate with design, sourcing, and manufacturing teams, and push prototyping, testing, and iterative improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering/Design Engineering/Product Development.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
• Experience with furniture design or wood manufacturing is a strong plus.
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the engineering side of new product development (NPD) projects from ideation to launch.
• Translate concepts into detailed engineering designs using SolidWorks and similar tools.
• Partner cross-functionally with design, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and efficiency.
• Drive prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles (fail fast, learn faster).
• Optimize products for cost, durability, manufacturability, and sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (including BIFMA).
• Troubleshoot production challenges and continuously improve existing products.

As a key contributor in our NPD process, you'll own the engineering journey from concept through production and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, collaborative role where design meets manufacturing.

What You Bring
