Job summary

TÜV SÜD Group is seeking candidates for multiple product safety roles at varying seniority levels in Minnesota. The positions involve coordinating investigations, reviewing safety requirements, and ensuring compliance with EN/IEC/UL standards across EV charging, batteries, and energy storage systems.

You will collaborate with clients and internal teams, manage technical files, and help advance testing methodologies while maintaining precise documentation and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 0-5 years' experience in a laboratory conducting electrical safety testing.
• Knowledge of national and international electrical safety standards (EV charging, batteries, ESS).
• Familiarity with test equipment and applicable standards committees.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope, develop investigation plans, and define project specs (cost, time, samples) by analyzing client input.
• Perform and oversee product assessments and component evaluations at client or TÜV SÜD sites, ensuring standards compliance.
• Conduct technical file reviews, document findings, and prepare client reports promptly.
• Review product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes; document deficiencies.
• Act as principal intermediary between clients and operating areas during project lifecycles.
• Communicate technical issues and project progress with clients and internal teams.
• Lead meetings with clients to discuss updates and test-specific issues.
• Innovate and develop new testing techniques and procedures as needed.

Your Task

• sDetermine project scope, develop investigation plans, and define project specifications (cost, time, sample requirements) by analyzing client input and product construction
• Perform and oversee product assessments and component evaluations at client or TÜV SÜD sites, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., EN/IEC/UL 62368, 61010, 60335)
• Conduct technical file reviews, document findings, and prepare client reports in a timely manner
• Review product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes, documenting any deficiencies
• Act as the principal intermediary between clients and operating areas throughout project lifecycles
• Communicate technical issues and project progress with clients and internal teams
• Lead meetings with clients to discuss project updates and test-specific issues
• Innovate and develop new testing techniques and procedures as needed

Your Qualification

• sBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 0- 5 years' experience in a laboratory conducting electrical safety testing
• In-depth knowledge of national and international electrical product safety standards (preferably for electric vehicle charging, batteries, energy storage systems)
• Familiarity with test equipment and applicable standards committees
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
