Job summary

TÜV SÜD America, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Electrical Safety Engineer in Alpharetta, GA to lead and execute client-facing testing projects. You will scope investigations, plan tests, and ensure compliance with EN/IEC/UL safety standards across EV charging and energy storage systems.

The role requires 5+ years of lab experience, strong communication, and teamwork skills. Onsite work with competitive pay and benefits is provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a laboratory conducting electrical safety testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of national and international electrical product safety standards (preferably for electric vehicle charging, batteries, energy storage systems).
  • Familiarity with test equipment and applicable standards committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Review product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes, documenting any deficiencies.
  • Act as the principal intermediary between clients and operating areas throughout project lifecycles.
  • Communicate technical issues and project progress with clients and internal teams.
  • Lead meetings with clients to discuss project updates and test‑specific issues.
  • Innovate and develop new testing techniques and procedures as needed.

Additional Information
  • The anticipated annual base pay range for this full‑time position is $80,000–$100,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on years of experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 2 weeks for other parents, health plans (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance, disability, and generous paid time off.
  • Travel: occasional travel required to client or TÜV SÜD sites.
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally; ability to sit, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers for extended periods.
