Job summary

TÜV SÜD America Inc. in New Brighton, MN, seeks an experienced electrical safety professional to lead investigations, assess products, and ensure compliance with EN/IEC/UL standards.

You will define project scope, perform evaluations, review designs, and communicate progress to clients and internal teams. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of lab experience, with onsite work and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a laboratory conducting electrical safety testing.
• In-depth knowledge of national and international electrical product safety standards (EN/IEC/UL 62368, 61010, 60335).
• Familiarity with test equipment and applicable standards committees.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal intermediary between clients and operating areas throughout project lifecycles.
• Communicate technical issues and project progress with clients and internal teams.
• Lead meetings with clients to discuss project updates and test-specific issues.
• Innovate and develop new testing techniques and procedures as needed.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Project management experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Additional Information

• The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $75,000 - $90,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to employees, including a 401(k) plan with employer match, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 2 weeks for other parents, health plans (medical, dental, and vision), life insurance and disability, and generous paid time off.
• Travel: Occasional travel required to client or TÜV SÜD sites.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally; ability to sit, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers for extended periods.
