Job summary

Hallmark Financial Services Inc. seeks a Product Director to manage P&L for select states and lines of business, using rate indications, distribution reports, retention analysis and other rate-making tools to increase written premium and profitability. The role also handles underwriting and compliance and develops forms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor staff, coordinate with regulators as needed, and drive pricing strategy and performance across Auto and Renters lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience in insurance or related field, or equivalent combination.
• Strong data analysis and pricing skills with ability to explain rating decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business plans including annual growth, retention and profit forecasts.
• Provide senior leadership with regular assessment of financial results and indicators; implement corrective actions.
• Build productive relationships with independent distributors to promote products.
• Mentor and coach colleagues to enhance performance and position for opportunities.
• Initiate insurance filings and support rate decisions with state regulators.
• Independently recommend rate actions using pricing metrics to target profit drivers.
• Identify product and loss trends by monitoring multiple metrics.
• Collaborate with sales, claims and operations to forecast staffing and new office needs.
• Manage controllable expenses and align state expense structure with competitors.
• Develop and revise rate specs and processes for usability and effectiveness.
• Stay abreast of industry trends to improve pricing, underwriting and claims results.
• Responsible for top and bottom-line results for personal Auto and Renters products.
