Job summary

Haleon in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Product Development Scientist to drive formulation and product development across consumer healthcare portfolios. You will lead projects, design studies, and translate insights into robust formulations for tablets, capsules, powders, and more, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong scientific background, hands-on lab experience, and a passion for wellness innovation.

Qualifications

BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related.
3+ years of relevant formulation or product development experience in consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, OTC medicines, dietary supplements, foods, or adjacent industry.
Hands-on laboratory experience applying scientific principles to formulation and product development challenges.
Experience designing experiments and organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating technical data.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional project teams.

Responsibilities

Execute and manage one or more projects in support of product innovation and development initiatives.
Lead end-to-end development plans, ensuring robustness, cost efficiency, manufacturability, and global deployment.
Collaborate with external development partners, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and testing laboratories.
Develop superior prototypes, optimize formulations, and establish a design space through structured experimentation.
Design experiments, create research plans, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Maintain GMP, EHS, and site quality requirements in all work.
Support growth mindset and cross-functional collaboration to translate consumer insights into products.
