Job Description:

The Product Development Manager leads the product development and product management process for health plans and related service offerings. The incumbent defines product opportunities within commercial and retail markets, documents requirements, secures approvals, and leads development activities from initial concept through commercialization. The manager drives enhancements, packaging, promotion, and optimization of product performance across all channels. They are accountable for strategies that support and promote profitable market share throughout the product lifecycle. The role involves creating comprehensive product strategies, including pricing, promotion, and distribution for all segments and regions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enhance healthcare products to ensure competitiveness, profitability, and responsiveness to community needs.
  • Monitor product lifecycle and adjust strategies accordingly; develop metrics and monitor performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership on planning, development, and rollout of new products and enhancements.
  • Lead the product development process from concept to post-launch analysis, engaging cross-functional teams.
  • Support requirements across business and technology areas; document new product concepts and engage stakeholders.
  • Create communications and training for product deployment; lead business readiness activities.
  • Provide ongoing sales support and subject matter expertise.
  • Act as liaison to keep all areas informed of product status; work with implementation teams for successful rollouts.
  • Report product status to senior management; assist in vendor negotiations as needed.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to inform product strategy and synthesize information into reports.
Qualifications:

Level I requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, statistics, or similar, with at least one year of experience or six years of related experience without a degree. Preferred experience in healthcare industry, strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Level II requires at least four years of experience in marketing, product, or program development, with an MBA preferred, and experience managing teams and projects.

Physical ability to travel; commitment to diversity and inclusion; company culture values compassion, pride, excellence, innovation, and fun. Salary range: $60,410 - $106,929. Remote work possible on a case-by-case basis. Equal opportunity employer.
