Job summary

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Physics (M.S. preferred).
• 10+ years in hardware/capital equipment development for semiconductor tools or related.
• People management experience leading engineers through concept-to-release.
• Solid understanding of precision instruments and control systems.
• Proven problem solving track record.
• Experience with high vacuum systems and electron beam tools (e.g., SEM).
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Travel for training and customer support worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed requirement specifications from performance requirements using systems engineering methodology.
• Develop and implement design improvements to current and next generation products.
• Apply systems engineering to optimize instrument performance.
• Lead team to develop and test design improvements, validation, and implementation.
• Create training materials for cross-training and skill advancement.
• Lead field customer concerns with plans of action remotely or on-site worldwide.
• Write high-level technical reports on issues, analysis, and recommendations.
• Design and drive multi-disciplinary experiments with detailed test plans.
• Interface with service, manufacturing and marketing teams to optimize performance.
• Coordinate with outside vendors to deliver sub-system products.
• Lead engineers to design, integrate and test prototype systems.
