Insulated Products Corporation is seeking a hands‑on Product Development & Maintenance Coordinator to lead daily lab operations, support product development, and manage preventive maintenance within our manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mechanical, Industrial, Packaging, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical, Materials Science or related field.
  • 1–3 years manufacturing/engineering support, laboratory testing, or maintenance coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day laboratory operations, testing, and documentation.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and equipment inspections with production.

testing, equipment installations, or urgent maintenance activities.)

About the Role

IPC is seeking a bright, analytical, and hands‑on Product Development & Maintenance Coordinator to lead day‑to‑day laboratory operations while supporting

  • Product development & testing
  • Preventive maintenance coordination
  • Machinery related projects within our manufacturing operation.

This role works closely with the Maintenance Manager to manage laboratory testing, support research and development initiatives, coordinate equipment maintenance activities, oversee technical purchasing, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance manufacturing performance and product quality.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering, manufacturing, packaging, laboratory, or technical background who enjoys solving problems, working hands‑on, and taking ownership of projects from concept through completion.

Product Development & Laboratory Support
  • Manage day‑to‑day laboratory operations and ensure laboratory equipment,
    materials, and testing activities are properly organized and maintained.
  • Coordinate laboratory and product‑performance testing for insulated packaging,
    gel refrigerants, insulated liners, pouches, mailers, containers, coatings, adhesives, films, insulation materials, and related products.
  • Prepare test samples, packaging components, gel packs, payloads, temperature data loggers, and environmental chambers for testing.
  • Conduct testing according to established procedures and customer requirements while documenting results, observations, and recommendations.
  • Prepare laboratory reports and maintain accurate testing records, technical documentation, and product samples.
  • Support research and development projects involving packaging materials, coatings, adhesives, insulation products, refrigerants, and manufacturing
    materials.
  • Coordinate production trials for new materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Compare supplier materials against IPC’s technical, operational, quality, and cost
    requirements.
Maintenance Coordination
  • Assist the Plant Manager in coordinating preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, machine repairs, troubleshooting activities, and maintenance projects.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, repair logs, work orders, service
    records, and equipment history.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production to minimize equipment
    downtime.
  • Work with equipment manufacturers, outside service providers, contractors, and
    technicians to obtain technical support, repair quotations, and maintenance services.
  • Assist with equipment installations, startup activities, testing, employee training,
    and validation.
  • Maintain equipment manuals, warranties, technical documentation, and maintenance records.
  • Report unsafe equipment conditions and support a safe manufacturing
    environment.
Spare Parts Purchasing & Inventory
  • Identify replacement parts, maintenance supplies, consumables, and equipment components required to support manufacturing operations.
  • Obtain and compare supplier quotations based on pricing, availability, lead time, warranty, and technical compatibility.
  • Coordinate approved purchases with Purchasing and monitor order status through
    delivery.
  • Verify received parts against purchase orders and equipment specifications.
  • Maintain organized inventories of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
Reporting & Technical Support
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, quotation comparisons, project updates, maintenance summaries, and technical documentation.
  • Support the development of laboratory procedures, testing protocols, work
    instructions, and technical forms.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Purchasing, Quality, suppliers, and
    leadership to support manufacturing objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering,
    Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Maintenance Technology, or a related technical field. An Engineering degree is a significant plus.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, engineering support,
    laboratory testing, product development, maintenance coordination, quality,
    technical purchasing, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage daily laboratory operations, product testing, laboratory documentation, and testing equipment.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, laboratory, packaging,
    maintenance, or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
    Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment, mechanical components,
    pumps, motors, bearings, belts, chains, pneumatic systems, and electrical
    components.
    Ability to read equipment manuals, technical drawings, specifications, and supplier
    documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
    Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent project coordination and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working in both laboratory and manufacturing environments.
