Job summary

Amcor in the United States is seeking a Product Development Engineering Intern to support the Product Development team in coordinating projects that improve proprietary products or procure new tooling.

You will work under supervision to coordinate projects, interact with multidisciplinary teams, and help acquire vendor quotes for tooling, while developing drawings, models, and QA testing programs. This internship emphasizes organization, communication, and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing an Engineering degree.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and assertive individual.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of prototype tooling for projects.
  • Evaluate prototype parts and modify tooling as needed.
  • Assist in modifying tooling to ensure parts are functional.
  • Develop quality assurance testing programs and organize test data.

Job Description

The Rigid Packaging Solutions - North America Division has an immediate need for a Product Development Engineering Intern. As a member of the Product Development team, this role will assist Product Development Engineering in coordinating all aspects of projects pertaining to the improvement of proprietary products or the procurement of new proprietary or custom business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Work under the direct supervision of a Product Development Engineer/Manager/Director to assist in the coordination of all aspects of projects pertaining to the improvement of proprietary products or the procurement of new proprietary or custom business.

  2. Interact with & lead multidisciplinary teams and organize production/development trials as needed. 3. Acquire quotes from vendors on new tooling or modifications to proprietary tooling.

  3. Assist in determining costs on custom and proprietary projects.

  4. Develop, maintain, and update part drawings and tooling prints.

  5. Create models and prototypes of parts for customers.

  6. Assist Tooling Engineers/PD Engineers in the design of prototype tooling for projects.

  7. Evaluate prototype parts and make modifications to tooling, as necessary.

  8. Assist in modifying new or existing production tooling as necessary to ensure that parts are functional.

  9. Assist in developing quality assurance testing programs for customer and/or proprietary projects. 11. Organize test data and prepare presentations, project summaries, reports, and analyses.

  10. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Currently enrolled as a student working towards an Engineering degree, preferably at the sophomore/junior/senior level.

  2. Strong organizational skills with ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  4. Self-motivated and assertive individual
