Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead design and release activities for fuel and evaporative emission components, near Southfield, MI. The role focuses on DFMEA, DVP&R, and DFSS, coordinating with multiple functions to ensure timely program milestones.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3+ years of engineering experience. Master’s degree and CAD experience (Creo/SolidWorks) are preferred. Salary ranges from $86,000 to $126,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
• Will not sponsor immigration for this position; no CPT/OPT/STEM OPT support.
• Geographical constraint within 50 miles of Southfield, MI.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all Product Engineering deliverables for vehicle launch programs using DFMEA, Boundary Diagrams, DVP&R, PVP&R and DFSS.
• Develop design solutions for new opportunities in Evaporative Emissions/Vapor Valve activities.
• Contribute to prototype development: analysis, design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and test.
• Support Cost Out, Tool Moves, Continuous Engineering and Business Pursuit efforts when workload allows.
• Interface with Engineering, Design, Testing, PM, Sales, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to meet objectives.
• Engage with Tier 1 and 2 customers, partners and suppliers for program goals.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders verbally and in writing.
