Ainsley Search Group is hiring a Product Development Engineer to lead the lifecycle of new product development and commercialization for a Global Performance Materials Manufacturer in the greater Philadelphia area.

The role involves collaborating with sales, product management, manufacturing, and engineering to drive material development, testing, tooling, and process improvements while addressing customer complaints and supporting field trials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in materials science or mechanical engineering is required.
• Experience as Product Development Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer preferred, with metal processing exposure.
• Strong knowledge of processes, quality indicators, tool/fixture development, and product commercialization.
• Project management skills to define timelines and costs.
• Excellent communication and people skills, with strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development from materials research to commercialization.
• Test and evaluate new materials for tolerance, environments, and cost effectiveness.
• Apply data analysis on production processes and quality issues to improve product validity.
• Define project timelines and budgets; monitor progress and control costs.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, customers and suppliers.
• Support field testing and provide data analysis for formulations and applications.
• Provide technical resources to sales and marketing teams.
• Travel to customer sites to investigate complaints and drive resolutions.
