Job Summary

Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer of innovative, high-quality coatings for the architectural and industrial maintenance markets. We are currently seeking a Product Development Chemist II to join our Exterior Coatings formulation team.

In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues in the Exterior Coatings laboratory utilizing your architectural and industrial maintenance coatings experience to improve upon existing products and develop and commercialize the next generation of coatings, stains, and primers. As a Product Development Chemist II, you will identify, explore, and prove the feasibility of new chemistries, provide direction to team members, and offer support and solutions to Quality and Supply Chain issues and initiatives. This position offers great opportunities for growth and development into higher technical or managerial roles.

Responsibilities




Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new products in partnership with the Technical and Innovation Laboratory, Quality, Marketing and Manufacturing teams
  • Initiate, design, and execute multidimensional experiments
  • Extensive knowledge of competitive and industry playing field
  • Knowledge of formulation tools, techniques, performance metrics and manufacturing processes
  • Manage several projects concurrently
  • Support resolution of Quality, Procurement and Manufacturing issues
  • Plan and support Manufacturing scale-ups
  • Maintain laboratory and equipment
  • Provide direction and training to team members
  • Participate in learning and capability building initiatives in Product Development
  • Professional development through continuous learning
  • Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines





Qualifications

* BS Chemistry; 8+ years of experience
