Job summary

A telecommunications company in Guam is looking for a Product Development Apprentice to assist with market research and product documentation. The position requires strong organization and communication skills, along with a high school diploma. Candidates must be US citizens or resident aliens aged 18 or older, residing in Guam for the last three years. Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen or resident alien.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be a resident of Guam for at least three consecutive years.
  • Must be a resident of Guam for a period not less than three (3) consecutive years before entry into the program.
  • Mayors Verification must be submitted upon hire.
  • Must be able to attend a minimum of two (2) classes per semester as identified by program coordinator, while working forty (40) hours per week with IT&E.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating key aspects of the product lifecycle.
  • Help create and update product documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for product information.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of product launches, including gathering information for product pitches.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain product information, lead times, and availability for promotional products.
  • Coordinate with Inventory and assist in monitoring inventory levels of promotional products and/or products for promotion and assist with restocking or ordering procedures.
  • Assist with preparing sales materials, answering customer questions, and providing support to the sales team.
  • Coordinate with Data & Analytics team to help track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports on product performance.
  • Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned or required.

Job description

Under the direction of the Product Development Manager, the Product Development Apprentice will assist in coordinating key aspects of the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include assisting with market research, maintaining product documentation, supporting product launches, and coordinating with vendors and suppliers. The role also helps manage inventory for promotional items, supports sales and marketing efforts, and works with the Data & Analytics team to track product performance. This position requires strong organization and cross‑functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Employee will:

  • Know and uphold established IT&E Mission, policies and procedures, Department and Division objectives, quality assurance and safety programs and standards.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing data on market trends, customer needs, and competitor products.
  • Help create and update product documentation, including user guides, specifications, and marketing materials.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of product launches, including gathering information for product pitches.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain product information, lead times, and availability for promotional products.
  • Coordinate with Inventory and assist in monitoring inventory levels of promotional products and/or products for promotion and assist with restocking or ordering procedures.

  • Must be a US citizen or resident alien.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • One year of marketing experience or product management experience is preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical activity of this position includes crouching, standing, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm, grasping, feeling, Talking, hearing, repetitive motions making substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.

The physical requirements of this position involve Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds if force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that of Sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

For visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field of vision, the worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines. Using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts as distances close to the eyes.

Working Conditions

The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. This job operates mainly in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. However, Activities occur both indoors and outdoors so the worker will be subject to both environmental conditions.

About IT&E

Formerly Micronesian Telecommunications Corp, IT&E was a part of Verizon International. CITADEL acquired IT&E in 2005 after successfully navigating the US CIFUS process and the Federal Communications Commission. In 2006, a partnership was established with Sumitomo Corporation, one of Japans largest trading houses, which invested in the company as part of its telecommunications push.
