Job description

Product Development & Sourcing Associate

Location: Nashville, TN

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

The Nash Collection is looking for a creative, organized, and highly motivated Product Development & Sourcing Associate to join our growing product team.

This role will play an important part in bringing new products to life—from identifying upcoming trends and sourcing new materials and vendors to assisting with product design, tech packs, purchase orders, and production. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for product, understands what is trending in fashion and lifestyle, and is equally comfortable being creative and detail-oriented.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who loves product, enjoys researching what's next, and wants to be involved in the process of turning an idea into a finished product.

Key Responsibilities & Product Development
  • Assist with the development of new products from concept through production.
  • Support the product team with researching, developing, and refining new product ideas.
  • Assist with product design, materials, colors, trims, packaging, and other product details.
  • Help create and maintain accurate tech packs, product specifications, measurements, and other development documents.
  • Communicate product details and revisions clearly throughout the development process.
  • Track samples, revisions, approvals, and production timelines.
Trend & Market Research
  • Stay current on fashion, lifestyle, retail, and consumer trends.
  • Research upcoming trends in colors, materials, silhouettes, graphics, accessories, and products.
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities that align with The Nash Collection customer and brand.
  • Regularly research competitors, retailers, brands, social media, trade shows, and other sources for product inspiration.
  • Help translate trends and market insights into new product opportunities.
Sourcing & Vendor Management
  • Research and source new products, materials, fabrics, trims, packaging, and potential vendors.
  • Identify new suppliers and manufacturers that meet quality, pricing, and production requirements.
  • Request samples, quotes, minimum order quantities, lead times, and production information from vendors.
  • Compare vendor pricing and product options to help ensure the best combination of quality, cost, and value.
  • Maintain organized vendor and product information.
  • Assist with vendor communication and follow-up throughout the product development process.
Purchase Orders & Product Operations
  • Assist with creating and maintaining purchase orders.
  • Ensure product information, quantities, pricing, costs, and other PO details are accurate.
  • Help monitor open POs, production timelines, and expected delivery dates.
  • Work with vendors to follow up on production status, samples, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain accurate product development and sourcing records.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Collaborate with the product, merchandising, creative, retail, and operations teams.
  • Help ensure new products align with brand standards, customer demand, pricing strategy, and margin goals.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to improve product quality, cost, packaging, and overall customer experience.
  • Support special projects and new product initiatives as the company continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For
  • 1–3+ years of experience in product development, fashion, apparel, accessories, sourcing, merchandising, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging fashion and retail trends.
  • Excellent eye for product, color, materials, and design.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with vendors and manufacturers.
  • Ability to manage multiple products and projects at different stages of development.
  • Experience creating or working with tech packs is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with purchase orders and product costing is preferred.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, growing environment.
  • A self-starter who can identify opportunities rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Creative thinker who also understands the importance of deadlines, margins, costs, and operational details.
The Ideal Candidate

You are someone who naturally notices what brands, consumers, and influencers are gravitating toward before everyone else does. You might see a product, color, fabric, or trend and immediately think, “We could make that better.”

You enjoy the creative side of product development, but you also love the details—costs, samples, specifications, vendor communication, purchase orders, and timelines.

You are curious, organized, resourceful, and excited by the process of taking an idea from “What if we made this?” to a finished product on the sales floor.
