Qualifications

  • At least 1 year in an atelier environment or with sample/pattern makers.
  • Comfortable pinning on models during fittings and communicating notes clearly.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple collections, orders, and deadlines.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and follow-through.
  • Detail-oriented with inventory, materials, and sample tracking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; PLM tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Creative Director and Product Development Manager for new collections (RTW and Bridal).
  • Coordinate atelier workload across collections and client orders by priority and due dates.
  • Ensure atelier team understands next priorities and workloads.
  • Assist fittings by dressing models, taking notes, and helping pin adjustments.
  • Organize fitting notes and communicate adjustments to the atelier team.
  • Monitor atelier quality and address any flaws or issues to maintain standards.
  • Assist with local bulk production by supplying samples, materials, and patterns.
  • Quality control and review notes for bulk and custom orders.
  • Resolve production issues and communicate delays or shortages to management.
  • Assist with private client and couture appointments and alterations.
  • Prepare for collection presentations, fittings, and events.

Job description

Reem Acra is a legendary luxury Bridal and RTW designer celebrated for her regal designs, which have been worn by royals and celebrities for more than 25 years. The collections are sold at luxury retailers around the world and are known for their craftsmanship, intricate details, and high level of quality.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a driven Product Development and Production Coordinator to oversee the atelier team, in-house development, and local production. This position will report directly to the Product Development and Production Manager and will oversee the daily workload of the in-house atelier, balancing collection development samples, private client orders, couture client orders, and local bulk production. This role will also assist the Creative Director during collection fittings by dressing models, taking fitting notes, and helping pin fit adjustments. The Product Development and Production Coordinator will make sure fitting notes are clearly communicated to the atelier team and that all adjustments are completed according to the fitting instructions. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of high-end garment construction and sewing techniques. This person should be comfortable managing multiple collections and orders at the same time, communicating directly with the atelier team, and making sure work is completed correctly and on schedule. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who takes initiative, follows through, and can keep the atelier and production organized when priorities change. We are looking for someone who is highly professional, has a strong work ethic, and respects the craftmanship and standards of Reem Acra.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development & Production
  • Support the Creative Director and Product Development Manager with developing the newest collection for both RTW and Bridal seasons.
  • Coordinate the daily workload of the atelier team across collection development samples, private client orders, and couture client orders according to priorities and due dates.
  • Make sure all atelier team members have work lined up and clearly understand their next priority.
  • Assist during collection fittings by dressing the model, taking fitting notes, and helping pin fit adjustments.
  • Organize all fitting notes following each fitting and clearly communicate the adjustments to the atelier team checking that they are completed correctly.
  • Oversee the quality of work in the atelier to ensure it meets Reem Acra standards and take initiative to address any flaws or issues.
  • Assist with managing local bulk production by providing samples, raw materials, and patterns.
  • Quality control and review notes for all bulk and custom orders for accuracy and quality standards.
  • Assist with resolving production issues and communicate delays, quality concerns, or material shortages to the Product Development and Production Manager.
  • Assist with private client and couture appointments and alterations.
  • Assist with organization and preparation before collection presentations, fittings, and events.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory spreadsheets for samples, patterns, fabrics, embroideries, trims, and other materials.
  • Keep track of all samples, including style, status, and location.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of development patterns and track where patterns are located and which styles they belong to.
  • Track fabric and embroidery inventory from receipt through development and production.
  • Record material usage and maintain accurate stock counts.
  • Regularly compare physical inventory against spreadsheets and correct discrepancies.
  • Flag missing, low-stock, or incorrectly recorded materials.
Raw Material Coordination
  • Assist with booking appointments with fabric and embroidery vendors as well as purchasing local trims.
  • Maintain accurate PO records for raw material purchases.
  • Track material receiving and coordinate raw material deliveries to factories in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Follow up with vendors regarding materials, deliveries, and deadlines.
  • Flag any material delays or shortages that could affect development or production.
  • Coordinate with local and international vendors and factories as needed.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a design, product development, or production role within the Bridal or luxury RTW industry.
  • Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and luxury sewing techniques.
  • Experience working with local and international vendors or factories.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in an atelier environment or working directly with sample makers and pattern makers.
  • Must be comfortable pinning on models or clients during fittings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple collections, orders, and deadlines at the same time.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional follow-through, sense of urgency, and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with samples, patterns, fitting notes, materials, and inventory.
  • Must be comfortable maintaining detailed inventory spreadsheets and working with large amounts of information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with A2000, Apparel Magic, or PLM systems is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with luxury clientele.
  • Ability to take direction but also work independently and use good judgment.
  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude are essential.
