Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Project Manager in the Industrialization group to guide development of front wheel drive hybrids, transmissions, and eDrive units. You will manage milestone cadence, lead assessments, and coordinate with multiple teams (Purchasing, Finance, TPMT) to ensure timely program delivery and approvals.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 2+ years Powertrain experience, and at least 1 year in automotive project management.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering preferred; business/accounting considered as well.
• 2 years of Powertrain experience.
• 1 year of automotive or similar-domain project management.
• FEDEBOM, Global Integrator knowledge, WERS experience, MS Office fluency.

Responsibilities

• Manage milestone cadence within GPDS parameters.
• Lead milestone assessments, report-outs to Director level, and papers.
• Develop and manage project schedules and inputs for proposals.
• Lead or support TPMT for responsible commodities and BOMs.
• Coordinate with purchasing to ensure on-time delivery and milestones.
• Write DRPs and drive approvals; support prototype builds and dyno kit ordering.

In this position...
This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future of Ford Motor Company in the Industrialization group that guides development of all our internally produced front wheel drive hybrids and transmissions as well as some internally produced eDrive units.

The Industrialization team project manages all of the new programs around the globe, project proposals, cost savings ideas, milestone reviews and much more. You would be responsible for your projects and programs, with report-outs up to senior levels of management at milestone checkpoints. Based on the knowledge and experience of the selected candidate, this specific role will either lead one of the architectures referenced above or lead aspects of them while learning our process.

What you'll do...

• Manage milestone cadence within GPDS parameters.
• Lead milestone assessments, report-outs (to Director level), and papers to ensure on-time approvals.
• Engage in new business proposals & business cases.
• Develop & maintain project schedules.
• Lead or support TPMT (Transmission Product Management Team) for responsible commodities.
• Act as transmission lead/SPOC in Program PMT meeting.
• Collect and enter Integrator assessments.
• Provide Finance team support.
• Coordinate with Team of Four groups and work with Purchasing to ensure we are on track for delivery.
• Drive FMA process to ensure we are on track for delivery to milestones.
• Write DRPs and drive for approvals.
• Manage BOM/FEDE-BOM.
• Support prototype build requirements, dyno kit ordering and builds themselves.
• Support WERS release.
• Issue tracking via JIRA.

You'll have...

BS in engineering preferred; Business/Accounting will be considered as well.
2 years of Powertrain experience.

1 year of project management in an automotive or similar domain.

Even better, you may have Bachelor's degree in engineering. FEDEBOM experience. Global Integrator knowledge. WERS experience. Microsoft Office application fluency (Powerpoint, Excel, etc.).

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
