Job summary

King’s Hawaiian is seeking a Product Developer to join our Innovation & Commercialization team. You will work with Food Scientists, chefs, and engineers to create new products and recipes for commercialization, guiding prototypes from concept to scale-up for national launches.

The role reports to the Manager, Product Development and emphasizes collaboration across Marketing, Insights, Operations, and Packaging.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in food science or closely related field.
3+ years of progressively responsible experience in R&D and new product development.
Knowledge and experience in baking and cereal sciences (2+ years).

Responsibilities

Participate in identification, design, development, creation, and testing of product prototypes.
Collaborate with chefs and third parties to create scalable recipes for launches.
Develop rapid prototypes for real purchase environments.
Develop specifications for raw materials, process controls, and finished goods.
Manage scale-up trials with Production leadership.
Work with ingredient and packaging suppliers on technical characteristics.
Ensure shelf stability and food safety with labs testing.
Prepare FDA/USDA labeling and product specification sheets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in product development process.
