Job summary

Goodreads, an Amazon company, is seeking a Product Designer to own and mature an AI-ready design system across web and mobile. You will collaborate with product, engineering and user research to elevate reader experiences in Discovery, Reading, Tracking and Community, across web, iOS, Android, and email.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Goodreads (an Amazon company) is hiring a Product Designer on the Goodreads Design team to own, manage, and design an AI-ready design system that accelerates design velocity, consistency, and quality across web and mobile. The role includes maturing design system and tooling and up-leveling customer experiences across core product areas (Discovery, Reading, Tracking, and Community), designing across web, iOS, Android and email, and partnering with product, engineering and user research teams. The office is located in downtown San Francisco.

What you'll do

• Own the design and enablement of the design system to deliver core reader experiences across web and mobile apps, driving adoption, evaluating system gaps, optimizing processes, utilizing AI and scaling to meet product and surface needs
• Manage the design libraries and tooling while educating the team on best practices and providing resources
• Create customer-centered designs that incorporate customer feedback, user research, data, market trends and technical constraints
• Create flows, wireframes, design mockups, and rapid prototypes to conceptualize, prove out, and deliver product experiences
• Design across web, iOS and Android apps, and emails
• Partner with design, product, and engineering teams to define systems and AI enablement of design work
• Partner with User Research and independently drive evaluative research to develop customer understanding and validate design choices before and after development
• Advocate for design by sharing work and presenting cross-functionally, and precisely articulate design rationale

What they're looking for

• 3+ years of design experience
• Online portfolio or samples of work on resume demonstrating experience creating end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns across desktop and mobile devices
• Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar
• Experience delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer
• Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
• Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
• Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design
• Experience delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
