Job summary

Dirac, Inc. is seeking an early Product Designer to define how the BuildOS suite works and feels. You’ll build serious tools for technical users and own projects from pencil to release across research, strategy, prototyping, interaction and frontend development.

You'll shape structure and surface, define patterns and interactions, and contribute to design language and system as Build OS grows, collaborating with Product and Engineering from exploration through release.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience in complex B2B, technical, or professional software.
• High technical acumen and experience designing complex systems and workflows.
• Strong interaction and visual design skills from concept to production.
• Experience owning projects end-to-end, including research and release.
• Balance user needs with technical constraints and business priorities.
• Detail-oriented with high craft, usability, and visual quality.
• Ability to self-direct in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
• Experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design decisions.
• Familiarity with user research, usability testing, and prototyping.
• Clear communication of design decisions across Product and Engineering.
• Bias toward shipping and iteration over perfection.
• Curiosity about how physical things get made; manufacturing exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design BuildOS across 3D CAD interaction and structured data workflows.
• Define patterns, primitives, and interactions for complex workflows.
• Understand current tools and processes; design faster, more complete replacements.
• Become fluent in manufacturing workflows: BOMs, BOPs, GD&T, PMI, revision control.
• Work with manufacturing engineers, operators, and customers, including factory floor time.
• Help establish Dirac’s design language, system, and product standards.
• Partner with Product and Engineering from exploration to release.
• Contribute frontend prototyping and product polish beyond traditional design.
