Job summary

Target is seeking a Designer to join the Owned Brand team in Minneapolis. You will own the design and development of Target-owned brands across categories, collaborating closely with merchants and sourcing partners to maintain brand cohesion and price points.

You will translate concepts using CAD/hand sketches and prepare presentation boards. You will manage calendars, communicate with internal/external partners, and work four days per week in the Downtown MN HQ campus to deliver innovative,

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
• Knowledge of textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production.
• Experience assimilating product feedback.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in a retail or product development environment.
• Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work in a team environment.
• Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support and be responsible for Owned Brand product brands and/or categories that achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives.
• Under the overall direction of Design leadership, you will work with an assigned category, brand, business or guest segment and manage your own process and calendar.
• Maintain a diligent approach to workload, including timely communication with internal and external partners.
• Translate ideas for product direction using CAD/hand sketches.
• Prepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and material samples.
• Drive product designs to maintain overall creative direction, merchant line plans, and price points.

Education

Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field or equivalent experience

3+ years of relevant experience

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work in a team environment

Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative and cost-effective design solutions
