Gusto in New York seeks a senior product designer to craft AI‑driven HR experiences for small businesses. You will own shipped work in a two-sided SaaS context, balancing machine outputs with human judgment in a compliant domain.

You will lead journey mapping, service blueprints, and cross‑functional work with PM, engineering, and data partners to shape AI‑assisted experiences across HR surfaces. A strong craft in web design and B2B SaaS is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience owning shipped work in B2B SaaS.
• Experience in service design for multi-stakeholder products with journey mapping and service blueprints.
• Ability to evaluate and direct AI-generated design and content in a compliance domain.

Responsibilities

• Shape end-to-end experience of AI-powered surfaces (HR Assist, HR Partner Console, Compliance Intelligence, HR Documents).
• Lead service design across two-sided product with journey maps and operational handoffs.
• Make calls on AI outputs, risk, and human override, ensuring trust and clear explanation of design decisions.
• Define how trust and graceful failure appear across surfaces and how users correct the system if needed.
• Frame ambiguous problems and align partners around direction with minimal data.
