Job summary

Nominal is seeking a Summer 2027 Product Designer Internship to join our team in New York, Los Angeles, or Austin. You’ll collaborate with designers, engineers, and product partners on a scoped project addressing a real customer need, while receiving mentorship and feedback throughout the summer.

You will gain experience in research, prototyping, and detailed design, contributing to tools engineers use to test and validate complex hardware, with a potential full-time role after graduation in

Responsibilities

• Turn complexity into clarity by translating high-frequency hardware workflows into intuitive product experiences.
• Learn from real users by observing workflows and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and product teams on research, prototypes, and features.
• Guide a scoped design project from exploration to detailed design with mentor support.
• Contribute to design critiques, document decisions, and refine your thinking.
• Support the design system by applying patterns and documenting components.
