Job summary

Apple, Inc. is seeking a Product Design Engineer to take ownership of the mechanical design of parts and assemblies for Apple Vision products.

You will drive analysis, assembly, and reliability while guiding parts from concept through prototyping to production. You will collaborate with Industrial Design, Manufacturing, EE, Display, Camera, Antenna, Battery, Softgoods and Human Factors teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering.
• 2-5+ years of hands-on consumer electronics product design experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills; select materials & manufacturing processes per requirements.
• Experience working in technical project groups in a professional environment.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred).
• Proficiency in GD&T techniques and 2D drawings.
• Proficiency in tolerance analyses with statistical techniques.
• Experience with external manufacturing vendors (DFM/DFA, FAI/CPK).
• Knowledge of engineering materials and interpreting FEA results.
• Excellent communication skills and presenting to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Creative problem solving and DOE creation.
• Detail oriented and able to handle multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of parts, assemblies and modules within Apple Vision products.
• Own the analysis, assembly and reliability of these parts across the design cycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Industrial Design, Manufacturing, EE, Display, Camera, Antenna, Battery, and more.
