Halian is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Irving, TX on a contract-to-hire basis. You will participate in the design, development, and launch of consumer-facing products from concept through manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in product design or development.
• Proficient with CAD software (Onshape, SolidWorks, NX, Creo, Inventor).
• Experience creating engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products from concept through production.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Support product validation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers for DFM best practices.
• Prototype development, product testing, and root cause analysis.
• Manage engineering documentation and product lifecycle information.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and sourcing teams.
• Support domestic and international manufacturing during product launches and production activities.

About the Role

We're seeking a Product Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Irving, TX. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering hands-on involvement in the design, development, and launch of consumer-facing products from concept through manufacturing.

This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in mechanical product design, plastics, and manufacturing who wants to grow into a future technical leadership position. You will work closely with engineering, product development, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations teams to bring innovative products to market.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products from concept through production
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings
• Support product validation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supplier partners to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) best practices
• Participate in prototype development, product testing, and root cause analysis
• Manage engineering documentation and product lifecycle information
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and sourcing teams
• Support domestic and international manufacturing partners during product launches and production activities
• Contribute to a fast-paced environment where team members wear multiple hats and solve complex challenges

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or related discipline
• 4+ years of product design, mechanical design, or product development experience
• Experience using CAD software such as Onshape, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo, Inventor, or similar
• Strong understanding of product development processes
• Experience creating engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
• Experience with PLM systems such as Arena or similar platforms
• Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, or production teams
• Plumbing, water systems, fixtures, hardware, or related product experience
• Experience supporting products through manufacturing and production launch
