Job summary

Acosta Group is seeking an Associate to perform in-store food and non-food demonstrations, gain product knowledge, and professionally present samples to customers in a retail setting. The role emphasizes strong customer interaction, clean demonstrations, and compliance with company guidelines while working up to 25 hours per week.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may require a local food handler permit.

  • Build rapport with store personnel to meet objectives.
  • Complete expense reports and submit online requirements on event day.

Description

The Associate is responsible for completing in‑store food and non‑food demonstrations. The Associate acquires and maintains knowledge of the products represented, prepares, serves, and breaks down product, equipment, and supplies, and intercepts consumers to demonstrate products in a professional manner. A professional appearance consistent with the job requirements is maintained at all times. The role is not expected to exceed more than 25 hours per week, although the company reserves the discretion to change the schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively intercept, engage, interact with, and sell product to consumers in a positive manner.
  • Effectively communicate the features and benefits of the product.
  • Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the job requirements.
  • Properly set up and prepare the event table for execution.
  • Achieve 100% execution on assigned work.
  • Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
  • Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to effectively meet company and client objectives.
  • Complete expense reports in accordance with company policy.
  • Accurately prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
  • Access the internet, navigate company electronic systems, use Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Adobe PDF forms.
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience or training preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using personal computers or mobile devices with applications and internal systems.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Local food handler permit may be required.
Physical Demands
  • Stand and walk throughout the shift; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms up to 65 inches; talk and hear; read instructions and perform events; stoop, kneel, squat, climb or step onto ladder; balance; lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds); push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully loaded with appliances, supplies, and product; prepare foods and beverages using required appliances; contact cleaning supplies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Work Environment

Retail store environment with limited travel.

Physical Appearance

Professional appearance and proper grooming are required. The associate must present a neat, clean, and appropriately groomed appearance. Specific retailer dress code requirements are included in training documents.

Language Skills

English is the primary language skill; bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
