Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Product Definition Engineer to develop and check component definitions, including Model Based Definitions, to meet design intent and optimize manufacturability. You will produce high‑quality 3D models, perform tolerance stacks, apply GD&T/PMI, and work with design, manufacturing and suppliers in a cross‑functional team, supporting continuous improvement.

This role requires a strong technical background and a US citizenship, with a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 1+ years of experience; OR,Master's degree; OR, PhD
• Experience in CAD modeling (Siemens NX) and PLM software (Teamcenter) is essential
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities; systems thinking

Responsibilities

• Produce and check component definitions (Model Based Definitions) per engineering standards
• Ensure high‑quality 3D models, perform tolerance stacks, and ensure producibility
• Deliver drawings and MBDs with GD&T and PMI; collaborate with design, manufacturing and suppliers
• Support DD&I Automation Strategy and promote continuous improvement of tools and processes
• Work in a cross‑functional team to meet design intent and optimize for manufacture
