Product Data Specialist

As a Product Data Specialist, you'll directly impact our results through insights and reports. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, and other stakeholders to assist with prioritization, assessments, and business recommendations. Your responsibility, alongside the Analytics team, is to foster a data-driven culture within the company by making data accessible through interactive reports, datasets, documentation, and training.

Problems to be Solved

Your main goal is to enable our organization to become more data-driven through various initiatives such as:

• Modeling & Analysis: Our marketplace is complex, with many moving parts and conflicting signals, offering opportunities to identify gaps, insights, or optimizations. You should have advanced SQL skills and intermediate proficiency in Python or R to handle analyses ranging from simple A/B tests to multivariate models on retention or ETA.

• Reporting: Managing numerous metrics requires reliable, up-to-date dashboards. You will work with the teams to develop and maintain user-friendly reports using Tableau and Metabase, ensuring accuracy and trustworthiness.

• Analytics Engineering: Occasionally, you will work on our Data Warehouse’s inner layers to provide clean, documented datasets, supporting reliable reporting. Knowledge of SQL and experience with DBT are essential for this role.

• Experience: 4+ years in data & analytics at data-driven companies.

• Education: A STEM or business background or relevant education that supports a data-driven approach.

• Learning Mindset: You pride yourself on understanding problems deeply, asking the right questions, and quickly absorbing new topics with a structured approach. You’re adaptable and eager to learn how our business operates uniquely.

• Team Player: You work well with others, fostering an environment of trust and enthusiasm.

• Business Focus: You understand how analysis impacts our product, customers, and finances, and can trace metrics from high to low levels to identify reporting needs.

• Bias for Action: You prefer making progress over perfection, working efficiently within constraints, and avoiding overbuilding solutions.
