TEKsystems is seeking a Data Scientist for its commerce analytics team in Cupertino, CA. This contract role focuses on payment-related initiatives, building scalable dashboards and reporting using SQL, Python, Tableau, and AI-assisted workflows.

The ideal candidate will analyze large datasets, translate insights into business recommendations, and collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders. Hybrid work arrangement with a close-knit analytics function.

Qualifications

• Experience with data analysis, reporting and dashboards using SQL, Python and Tableau.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to automate reporting and build dashboards.
• Ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience in financial services or fintech is a nice-to-have.
• Experience analyzing customer behavior or payment datasets is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills to present insights to stakeholders.

Description:

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join this client's commerce org to support analytics and product initiatives focused on the payment's side. This individual will leverage data to drive business insights, influence product decisions, and build scalable reporting solutions.

Key Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and Tableau for data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude) to improve workflows, automate reporting, build dashboards, and drive productivity gains.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve complex business problems, and identify opportunities to use AI for operational optimization.
• Prior experience within in financial services, with experience in either legacy banking or fintech environments is a nice to have.
• Experience analyzing customer behavior, product performance, or payment-related datasets is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations.

Job Type & Location

• This is a Contract position based out of Cupertino, CA.

Pay and Benefits

• The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $77.00/hr.
• Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
