MoonPay is seeking a Product Counsel to be the dedicated legal partner for its expanding product suite, covering DeFi products, AI-driven financial services, and regulated crypto asset services. The role partners with product, compliance, and regulatory strategy to move fast while staying compliant.

The candidate will advise on governance of DeFi features, wallet architecture, and licensing in multiple jurisdictions, and will work closely with engineering, product, and risk teams to craft

Qualifications

• JD (or equivalent) and active bar membership in at least one jurisdiction.
• 6+ years of legal experience in crypto/fintech/regulatory space.
• Deep understanding of DeFi, DEX routing, AMMs, smart contracts, non-custodial wallets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal partner for MoonPay's DeFi product teams from ideation to launch and iteration.
• Advise on regulatory characterization of DeFi features across multiple chains and jurisdictions (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN).
• Provide coverage for non-custodial wallet products, MPC key management, and consumer protection obligations.
• Advise on AI agent integrations and regulatory landscape for autonomous financial services.
• Support launch of digital asset services ensuring licensing conditions are met across markets.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including API/SDK licenses and routing terms.
