Job summary

Abacus Group seeks a Product Control Associate for our Manhattan, NY client, focusing on daily P&L, NAV, and valuation controls in a hybrid office setting.

You will coordinate cross-functional processes, automate reporting, and support month-end closes with the team to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of product control experience.
• Daily P&L and daily NAV experience.
• Fixed income experience.
• Combo or private experience.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate daily P&L reports and explain key drivers (accruals, market moves, gains, FX, fees).
• Prepare executive-ready commentary summarizing daily performance and material portfolio changes.
• Reconcile NAV calculations with internal records; investigate pricing and accrual issues.
• Validate security valuations with pricing teams, fund admins, and stakeholders.
• Investigate P&L exceptions and coordinate resolution with portfolio management and finance.

Job description

Our client is a financial services firm. They seek a Product Control Associate to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Generate daily P&L reports and explain key performance drivers, including accruals, market movements, realized and unrealized gains, FX, and fees
• Prepare executive-ready commentary summarizing daily financial performance and material portfolio changes
• Reconcile daily NAV calculations with internal records, investigating and resolving pricing, accrual, and position discrepancies
• Validate security valuations by partnering with pricing teams, fund administrators, and internal stakeholders
• Investigate P&L exceptions and coordinate timely resolution of discrepancies with portfolio management and finance teams
• Support capital account reconciliations, fee accrual reviews, and valuation control activities during month-end close
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts related to new investments, restructuring events, and operational issue resolution
• Maintain documentation for valuation adjustments, pricing overrides, and financial controls to support audit readiness
• Design standardized reporting templates and scalable processes for fund performance reporting
• Automate financial reporting and reconciliation workflows using Excel, AI, and data automation tools to improve efficiency and scalability
