Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Product Configuration Engineer to turn customer specifications into SKU configurations and BOMs. You will manage product structures, leverage ERP/PLM/PDM systems, and standardize configurations for manufacturing and service.

This role emphasizes collaboration across engineering, sales, and operations. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in hardware configuration and experience with Autodesk tools; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in product configuration, BOM management, or PLM in hardware/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain SKUs, assembly structures, and product configurations in NetSuite for proposals, manufacturing, spare parts, and ongoing service.
• Translate customer specifications into equipment selections and configuration packages using our existing product portfolio.
• Develop and maintain BOM information with engineering and manufacturing, ensuring alignment between quoted products and production needs.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Standardize part numbering, product attributes, and configuration documentation.
• Partner with customer, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and project management to resolve technical requirements and support manufacturing handoff.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Product Configuration Engineer to join our dynamic team in the renewable energy sector. We are looking for someone with experience turning customer-specific hardware requirements into accurate assembly SKUs and manufacturing BOMs, with PLM implementation experience.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain SKUs, assembly structures, and product configurations in NetSuite for proposals, manufacturing, spare parts, and ongoing service.
• Translate customer specifications into equipment selections and configuration packages using our existing product portfolio.
• Develop and maintain BOM information with engineering and manufacturing, ensuring alignment between quoted products and production needs.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Standardize part numbering, product attributes, and configuration documentation.
• Partner with customer, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and project management to resolve technical requirements and support manufacturing handoff.

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in product configuration, BOM management, or product lifecycle management within a hardware or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience creating assembly SKUs, managing product structures, and working with ERP, PLM, or PDM systems.
• Ability to evaluate customer requirements and configure products for manufacturability, installation, and reliability.
• Proficiency with relevant Autodesk tools such as Inventor, Vault, Fusion, or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field—or equivalent experience.

Bonus Points if you have:

• NetSuite experience
• Utility-scale solar projects.
• Sensors, weather stations, data loggers, and related measurement equipment.
• Bench, laboratory, or field testing.
