Job summary

ABB is seeking a qualified professional to support customs and export control classification for products, software, and materials. The role includes maintaining master data such as HTS codes and ECCN, and advising teams on classification inquiries within a hybrid work model supporting US and Canada operations.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of US import/export regulations, experience in a multinational setting, and familiarity with SAP or SAP GTS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, import/export operations, customs compliance, or international trade administration.
  • Experience in multinational/global organizations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US import/export regulations; familiarity with CA regulations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HTS classification, ECCN determination, and customs valuation principles.

  • Manage and update master data for products, technologies, and software (HTS, ECCN, descriptions).

Each day, you will ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and guidelines. You will also showcase your expertise by conducting thorough research and analysis of ABB products to determine the appropriate product classification codes and standards.The work model for the role is Hybrid #LI-Hybird. Remote work is a possibility for the right candidate.This role is contributing to the Automation, Marine and Ports Division and will support the US and Canada.You will be mainly accountable for:Providing classification of products, software, and/or technologies as part of new product introduction cycle.Managing and updating master data for products, technologies, and software, including product description, Harmonized Tariff Scheme (HTS) code, and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), etc., and/or supporting customs declarants with product information required for master data management and entries.Providing guidance and support to relevant teams regarding product classification-related inquiries or issues.Reviewing and applying relevant changes in the regulatory framework related to product classification.Our team dynamicsOur teams support each other, collaborate, and never stop learning.
