Job summary

Ibotta is seeking an Analytics Engineer in Denver to join the Product Analytics team. You will build scalable data pipelines, maintain data foundations, and enable data-driven product decisions across consumer products and client surfaces.

You’ll collaborate with Decision Scientists and other data teams, own end-to-end projects, and help make data reliable for advanced analytics. This role emphasizes data quality, CI/CD, and AI-enabled workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data engineering supporting analytics teams or as analytics engineer/BI developer
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or related field
• Ability to apply data quality principles, including schema validation and data contracts
• Proven Python and SQL experience, building/maintaining production data pipelines (Databricks or similar)
• Creative thinking, insights, and problem solving to answer business questions with data
• Collaboration with SMEs to understand data context
• Experience identifying/troubleshooting data anomalies and pipeline issues; CI/CD testing
• Ownership of data lifecycle; rollups/aggregations for tracking/events
• Familiarity with Airflow; growing Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs)
• Experience with ETLing data; Looker/LookML and AI-assisted tooling a plus

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Decision Scientists to aggregate and normalize datasets
• Partner with data/engineering teams to represent data needs and best practices
• Incorporate knowledge of Decision Science solutions into data prep design
• Identify, validate, and test events-based data for data lake utility
• Understand business logic to document and maintain datasets
• Develop data sets with data quality principles and change management
• Deploy and maintain data pipelines using Airflow and CI/CD tooling
• Build UI and automation tools to enable data democratization
• Implement automated alerting and anomaly detection in data flows
• Own multiple projects end to end; minimize technical debt
• Explore AI-enabled tooling to improve engineering workflows
