This remote role involves overseeing corporate finance activities, managing team performance, and ensuring effective communication across departments. Clevertech, a growing organization based in New York City, is currently seeking to add a Director of Finance & Operations to our lean and growing team! This is a unique role for someone who feels comfortable tearing apart a balance sheet as well as engaging in strategic business planning. This position reports directly to the organization's C-suite team.
Leads the finance team responsible for corporate finance activities, including the recording and classification of transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, managing the monthly close process, and producing timely and accurate financial reports and operational KPI data for management.
Identifies, analyzes, and researches complex problems, questions, or discrepancies, and implements action plans to correct, improve, or mitigate financial risks within the organization.
Develops the Finance and HR teams through career guidance, training, and mentorship.
Performs analysis and monitoring of investments, presenting findings to leadership.
Oversees recruiting and human resources departments, providing leadership and resource management.
Develops workforce plans, forecasting capabilities, and maintains a pipeline of talent for key positions.
Note: This role does not involve direct HR/recruiting functions but includes oversight and KPI ownership.
Minimum four years of experience in accounting (preferably at a top 5 firm) or management consulting.
Proficiency with software tools and reporting systems.
Ability to lead teams through change, fostering teamwork and achievement of goals.
Strong project management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills and effective communication, both verbal and written, with a strong business writing background.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and deal effectively with employees and external contacts.
Full-time role with a salary commensurate with experience.
