Job summary

Nexstar Media Group in New Haven, CT is seeking a part-time News Producer to assemble daily newscast items, decide story order, write stories and teases, and time broadcasts for all platforms.

You will approve scripts, balance news and feature content for compelling broadcasts, create graphics, and contribute to editorial meetings. A journalism degree, English fluency, and at least two years in news operations are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum two years' experience in news operations.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
