Job summary

Paramount's Minneapolis-based operation is seeking a seasoned Producer to lead a team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors and other journalists in delivering timely, accurate, and compelling news across TV and digital platforms.

The role emphasizes managing deadlines, coordinating with news managers, and applying video, graphics, social media, and on-air talent to create memorable news moments while upholding FCC compliance and CBS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications.
• 2+ years of experience as a producer in commercial television news.
• Experience with newsroom systems and broadcast production tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors and other journalists.
• Craft phenomenal TV and collaborate on content for digital platforms daily.
• Deliver strong breaking news and weather coverage.
• Ideate and craft moments to showcase news, weather and sports anchors.
• Work closely with news managers to evaluate content for changing audiences.
• Apply video, live pictures, graphics, props, social media, anchor involvement and other television tools to deliver meaningful, memorable and distinctive news.
• Write memorable copy on tight deadlines.
• Ensure newscast timeliness, accuracy, fairness, quality and compliance with FCC requirements and CBS standards.

Basic Qualifications

Additional Qualifications

• Naturally curious and competitive leader; excellent interpersonal skills, strong writing, and ability to work efficiently in teams and under tight deadlines
• Experience with iNews, Tagboard, Grass Valley Stratus/Edius, and Ross Overdrive
